Are there any standards for Trans Fats in Various Edible Oils and Fats?
The Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011 prescribe the limit of trans fats to be not more than 5% by weight in Inter esterified Vegetable Fats, Vanaspati, Bakery and Industrial Margarine and Bakery Shortening.
Who is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information provided on the label?
The food business operator (FBO) under whose name the food is marketed is the operator responsible for the food information. FBOs must not knowingly sell food that is not compliant with the Regulations, even if they are not responsible for the labelling of the food.

The oil which is fortified with vitamin A and Vitamin D is fortified vegetable oil. Vitamin A and Vitamin D are good for health. Thus, it is good to consume fortified Vegetable Oil.
