About FoodNiti

The portal institutionalizes and streamlines scientific governance in the domain of food safety.

The Science and Standards (S&S) Division of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is responsible for formulating standards and related frameworks under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, which empowers FSSAI to:

“Lay down science-based standards for articles of food and regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, and import, to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto,”

The FoodNiti portal serves as a centralized digital platform for hosting the agendas and minutes of meetings of:

SP
Scientific Panels
SC
Scientific Committee
EC
Expert Committees
FA
Food Authority

The portal supports and documents scientific deliberations pertaining to risk assessment, standard setting, policy formulation, and the development of food safety frameworks.

By offering structured and transparent access to the decision-making processes of FSSAI’s scientific bodies, FoodNiti enhances institutional memory, fosters stakeholder trust, and reinforces India’s commitment to science-based, evidence-driven food regulation.
