Is audit compulsory before FSSAI recognition /notification of any food laboratory?
As of now FSSAI perform desktop audit only before recognition/notification. However, it may also go for preliminary audit as well as surprise audit depending upon the status of the laboratory, as found on scrutiny of the application file or performance after recognition/notification.
How much time does the notification process usually takes after the submission of Agreement and security deposit?
After the receipt of Security deposit and Agreement from the approved laboratories, the laboratories are notified through notification in Gazette of India. The whole process of recognition & notification would take around a month time.
