In chpater IX of FSS (Import) Regulations, 2017 it is mentioned that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India shall notify the officers for the purpose of food import clearance of the provisions of the Act, and it may also notify officers from other government agencies to maintain the standard operating procedure for food import clearance
