Scientific Panel on Methods of Sampling & Analysis

FSSAI has constituted Scientific Panel on Methods of Sampling and Analysis to revise existing testing methodologies and incorporate new test methods for analysis of various new parameters. Terms of Reference (TOR) of the Scientific Panel is to review all aspects of analytical methods used in food and sampling of food; including the test methods required to ensure that the commodity conforms to requisite standards. Methods Review Group

FSSAI has also constituted a Methods Review Group Pdf size:( 0.41 MB) to standardize and validate methods and look into the documents and also contributes to FSSAI methods manual. Terms of Reference (TOR) of the group is-

  • To review test methods for application in different food matrices;
  • To validate any methods developed by a single laboratory;
  • To suggest the methods for parameters for which methods do not exist;
  • To suggest methods for newer parameters mentioned in new/revised standards;
  • To update Scientific Panel with any newer methods that can be adopted;
  • Any other support as desired by the Scientific panel on Methods of Sampling and Analysis.
