Visit of Delegation to FSSAI from Bangladesh
Delegation from Bangladesh made a visit to FSSAI Head Quarter at Delhi on 19.06.12 and expressed the desire to undertake cooperation and partnership with Food Safety Authority of India.

It was informed that National Food Safety Advisory Council has been constituted in 2005 in Bangladesh which is Apex Body of Government to coordinate with various Departments and Ministries. A Food Safety Legislation is shortly being placed in the Bangladesh Parliament.
Chairperson, FSSAI gave an overview about Food Safety Regulations in India, the role of FSSAI and involvement of stakeholders in all areas for ensuring safe and sumptuous food to its citizens.

CEO, FSSAI emphasized upon the responsibility of Food Business Operators(FBO) one stage below and to be involved in overall ensuring Food Safety. He added that Bangladesh has taken initiative at the right time.
Presentation by Director FSSAI
A presentation each was made by FSSAI on Enforcement Processes and about Codex issues- the role of National Codex Control Point (NCCP) and India’s participation in Codex Alimentarius Commission, so that foods laws could be harmonized with International best Practices.
Bangladesh Delegation was led by National Adviser Food Safety Policies and Food central Management and also had representatives from Public Health, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Local Government, Industry Department, Ministry of Food and Disaster Management, Ministry of Fisheries & livestock and Bangladesh customs etc.
Later the delegation was given a presentation at FSSAI Referral Laboratory at Ghaziabad by Director (QA& S)
